Mary Jeanette McQuillin
Mary Jeanette (Dunipace) McQuillin, 87, went to join the Lord with her beloved parents, husband, brothers and sister on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010. She was born on Feb. 22, 1922, to Bessie and Harley Dunipace. Mary Jeanette later married Leslie McQuillin, and he preceded her in death in 1987.
She lived in Delta for many years. As a member of Delta United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary, Mary enjoyed fellowship while serving in various outreach projects and ministries. Assisting with school activities and helping neighbors also reflected a giving, compassionate spirit, as did her treasured times with family and friends. Sewing, reading, music, poetry, gardening, playing cards and some traveling were just a few of Mary's interests. Living at Oakleaf Village in recent years, she participated in church services, book and card groups, Bingo, Skip-Bo and a myriad of other activities that she enjoyed. She had made many good friends at Oakeaf over the years.
She is survived by her daughters, Myra (Bob) Schneider of Akron and Ruth (Marc) Dielman of Sylvania; a son, David (Heather) McQuillin of Richmond, Va.; her loving grandchildren who brought immeasurable joys in her life, Rachel (Mark) Conwell, Chris Schneider, Danny (Michelle) Schneider, Joel Dielman, Tim (Allison) Schneider and Ashley and Lauren McQuillin; two great-grandchildren, Savannah and Ryan Schneider; and very special, loving sisters-in-law, Alice and Anne Dunipace.
She was also preceded in death by her beloved parents; brothers Paul, Harley Noel, Raymond, and Russell Dunipace; and a sister, Elaine (Pasch).
Mary was very much loved and will be greatly missed, as she joins the heavenly angels with Christ. Her beautiful smile and laugh will always be remembered, and we will look forward to seeing her one day again.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2010, at Delta United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Delta. A luncheon will follow at the church.
Friends and family will be welcomed for visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Mary's name to Delta United Methodist Church or the American Legion Auxiliary of Delta.
Grisier Funeral Home in Delta has been entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.GrisierFH.com.
Special gratitude from the family is extended to Dr. Nicholas Lopez, her many doctors, the amazing Sylvania Oakleaf staff and the Flower Hospital staff, for their attentive care and support throughout the years.
