Bernetta Mae Krauss
Bernetta Mae Krauss, 84, of Swanton passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 15, 1925, in Berne, Ind., to Clifford and Ella (Neuhauser) Fluckinger. On Sept. 16, 1995, she married Edward Krauss, and he survives.
She attended Warner Beauty College and Wright University. Bernetta worked as a hairdresser for five years, and was employed by the State of Ohio for 14 years, working at the Ohio Veterans Children's Home, retiring in 1989. Bernetta was a member of Crossroads Evangelical Church in Wauseon and the Tatter Club.
She is also survived by her sons, Gary (Gretchen) Meller, Jerry (Delores) Meller and Jack (Pam) Meller; stepchildren, Linda (Mike) Falor, Susan (Randy) Stultz and Tom (Elaine) Krauss; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a brother, Merlin (Nancy) Fluckinger; a sister, Phyllis (Dean) Short; and her first husband, Russell Meller.
Bernetta was preceded in death by her parents; a stepmother, Margaret Fluckinger; and a sister, Carol Miller.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Crossroads Evangelical Church in Wauseon, with Pastor Matt Boyers officiating. Private interment followed at Pettisville Cemetery, with Rev. Roger Andrews officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Salem Children's Home, Miracle Camp or Hospice of Williams and Fulton County.
